Another Epic Evangelical Fail

Joshua Feuerstein proves to be just another Anti-Christ.  When will Christians stop being duped?

Joshua Feuerstein is another epic fail by the Evangelical world; which has once again been duped into following yet another anti-Christ Joshua Feuerstein.  Feuerstein is in the same category as Christian Taliban radical Steven Anderson.  He has gained a lot of traction especially within the conservative church for his rants against gays, abortion, bakeries, and Starbucks.  He thinks that he is standing up for the church and being a big mouth for those who are of his same species.

The only thing that people like Feuerstein accomplish is division and hate.  He labels pastors as passive and unwilling to stand up for what is right; yet he is wrong in this statement.  Us passive ones stand up against the unjust; we do defend scripture and its truths.  The problem is his kind of Evangelicalism which invokes a strange morality on the church.  It is hilarious really if so many people did not listen to his crap.  Let’s give you a few examples of how anti-Christ Feuerstein is.

He is thinks there is some kind of LGBT agenda that is threatening the church.  Wrong Feuerstein, LGBT people just want to be accepted by the church for who they are.  He was behind a bakery stunt trying to make a name for himself as this big bad defender of Christendom. Feuerstein, the only thing that you are defending is your hate.

You also believe that there is an abortion agenda.  No, wrong again Feuerstein there is no abortion agenda.  I am not a fan of abortions, yet I am not the one to throw stones on what I do not understand.  You claim to be pro-life yet you have incited violence against those who are pro-abortion.  I can’t remember Jesus inciting violence?  When Jesus was being arrested Peter acted in violence, who then received a rebuke. Jesus healed the victim the very one who was arresting him.  There is many ways in which we can curb abortions without violence.

The Christianity of the Jesus would not fit your agenda.  You are a self-promoter who stumbled on to semi-fame through your silly videos.  The Jesus I follow does not curse his people and incite violence.  The Jesus I follow says come unto me, I will give you rest.  The Jesus I follow brings unity to people of all faiths, creeds, sexual orientation, and cultures.  By your own words you have made yourself out to be an Anti-Christ.

Hostility to an Unbarred Mind

20180322_1827543948297599301047588.jpg

Hostility towards an unbarred mind is a phenomenon among humans persisting since time immemorial. What exactly is hostility to the unbarred mind?  Depending of our psych, social, bio, and spiritual makeup and design each person has formed a worldview.  Based on the four factors long held beliefs especially regarding religion will become solidified.  Individuals will find it difficult to change their minds on certain fundamental beliefs of their religion.

Why So Serious?

The issue is not a person’s faith; the issue is the often unwavering fundamentals possessed by the adherent. The very history of the world has been formed based on fundamentals of faith; often with terrifying results.  How many millions have died as a direct result of religion?  Or, should I say the direct result of someone who possesses hostility towards an unbarred mind.

Hellfire has taken its toll on the masses. Fears of death, unscrupulous interpretations of scripture have scourged the earth.  Cries of the martyrs of reach heaven.  Today the cries of those killed by modern day terrorist in the name of God are ringing in our ears.  The heretic persecution continues in America; while the violence has decreased the tyranny continues.

Evangelical Christians desire to spread the word of God, but because of their fundamental ideologies people are pushed away rather than pulled towards the church. Try to sit down and reason matters concerning the legitimacy of other faiths, LGBT inclusion, women in leadership, and a variety of other issues.  Often this is a concern based on the exegesis of the religious text.  It is very difficult for one fundamentalist to agree to disagree on even seemingly small issues such as woman in leadership.  Try getting a complementarian to visit a church with a female pastor; it is not going to happen.

To agree to disagree and support each other out of common love for God and man is nonexistent; generally the fundamentalist is not going to budge. Life would be much easier if we just let be.  Why can’t we stop being afraid and understand God as the loving creator he is?  Maybe the idea of deconstructing everything that we thought about Christianity is not an option.  After years within a certain set of beliefs allowing other interpretations of doctrines is a humbling experience.

Breaking into the Citadel of the Mind.

Breaking into the fortress that is the mind is not an easy task.  Yes modern manipulation takes place with every television commercial that you watch but those prey on your outer more susceptible regions.  The new soap commercial is probably not going to change your worldview.  Generally what must take place is a profound experience that is on somewhat a “supernatural” level.  This is difficult as most fundamentalist generally do not experiment with DMT or psilocybin mushrooms.  A terrible accident or disease, maybe a family member comes out as gay or lesbian.  Maybe it is just something that starts small and grows into a full blown spiritual awakening.  Until a person has reached the point in which he or she declares “I know nothing” It will be impossible to know anything.  Until the Christian says yes, Jesus is my savior, but maybe I do not have all the answers and neither does my church.  The hostility to an unbarred mind is ferocious and exact.  Much of the hate and anger that is dividing America is due to fundamentalist who refuse to compromise.

The Unbarred Mind.

The advantage of the unbarred mind is endless.  A few benefits these special individuals have is a lack of fear, an ability to reason, the ability to learn new concepts improving their lives, and a true sense of freedom.  Jesus possessed an unbarred mind along with nearly every other catalytic figure of the world’s religions.  Today we are seeing an emergence of Christians who are tearing down the walls of the mind.  More Christians are identifying as progressive, liberal, and tolerant.  Many are proud of their heretical label, wearing their damnable doctrinal beliefs as badges of honor.

It Also: HAPPENED AGAIN

IT HAPPENED AGAIN: This is what Mario Murillo states in is article loathing the fact that “millions of Spirit-filled Christians voted for the Democratic party.”  Oh no!  We are going to reap God’s judgment now!  The silliness of the Evangelical church does not stop!  Murillo is one of its clowns leading a three ring circus of fear.  I want break down his article; but first I want to let you know why I am writing this.  I am not against Murillo; I am against the division this type of rhetoric creates.  Basically it is implied that Republicans are the party of God and Democrats the party of Satan.  Of course it is the same issue, abortion; and well add in some sex to spice it up.  Evangelicals seem to be more fascinated with sex than a teenager.

I am not accusing Murillo of being a racist as he assumes some people may think; I truly understand why he believes the way he does. I can understand this type of Christianity because I once possessed similar theology.  Murillo is disappointed in the African American church in which he claims 90% voted for the Democratic Party.  I am sure he used sound research to come up with that statistic.  Before that statement he seems offended by a quote which states “White men are the biggest terror threat.” Well it is true.  The white race has caused more terrorism in the United States than any other to date.  He writes in horror that “We are left with the inescapable conclusion that born-again and Spirit-filled Christians in large numbers voted for the Democratic Party.” Oh no! Not the Democratic Party!  The Party that desires to expand healthcare, raise the minimum wage, protect the rights of minorities, and just be nice people to each other.  We do not need to change religious beliefs Murillo, we need to get our hermeneutics correct; or at least try.  I think love would fall into a good category to start.

But of course I hate the babies because I support democrats; how can I be a Christian and vote pro-? Life, death, I do not know; can we just stop! We could be more of a church if we decided to let go of our theological egos.  Can we ever admit that even the most adept theologian cannot explain “clearly” verses in the Bible?  As ministers we try by God’s grace.  Claiming absolute knowledge is lying to the people who trust us.

Murillo claims that, “A vote is not a statement just of what you are against but also what you are for.” Well if that was the case we never would vote.  We cannot be for and or against everything a politician or a Party is for.  His claim makes no sense.  And here we go Psalms 138:13 we can spin verses however you want, let me assure you none of them are clear. “For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb.” The Psalmist seems to be expounding on his desire to be in God’s presence from beginning to end, to be delighted in the Lord, to allow the Lord to search him and be united to him.  I really do not think that David understood biology or medical science very well.  But maybe; who knows?  Regardless I am not a fan of abortion; who is?  It is a serious event in a woman’s life that can be forever life altering.  As a Christian I would never counsel anyone to have an abortion, and I would never judge a woman who has.  It is not my place, my places to love not legislate morality.  We do not know what put that woman in that place.  We cannot understand her pain.  Further if you want to play by Murillo’s rules by voting Republican you are voting to keep in place policies that create catalyst for abortions.  Poverty being a major catalyst; but who cares about the poor as Jesus said, “They will always be with us.”  See, I can spin verses like records.

Murillo states, “Have you ever wondered why Planned Parenthood fights so hard to convince a fetus is not a person? Even they know, if a fetus is indeed a person abortion is taking a human life.”  No, Mario I did not, and you did not give us your opinion either.  I am assuming because you think that Planned Parenthood is some demonic entity that is bent on killing as many unborn babies as possible.  I am sure you think that they have a production goal that they must reach.  You, and Evangelicals like you are what is dividing the church.  I can agree with you on some points.  I do not think that abortions should be celebrated, life is precious; all life.  We do not however know when a fetus is ensouled. We don’t and we probably never will.  To believe, at the time of conception is just a guess.

You state that some Democrats believe that the Bible can be hateful.  Yes, it can be hateful.  The KKK, the Confederate Army, and slave owners defended their actions with Bible verses.  You say that we should not leave Jesus out of the voting booth, I agree.  The fact is the majority of the Republicans platforms are anti-Christ.  You are right, we are seeing damage done by Christians the problem is it is coming from you; not the people you are pointing fingers at.
