Most people know I love my little pup. One thing that cracks me up is that he cannot jump up on the couch. It is almost as if he can’t jump at all. Yet, I know he can jump, I know he has the ability, I believe he just doesn’t know he can.

Think about that in respect to our lives. How many of our lives are ultimately dictated by our beliefs? A large percentage! If we do not believe we can do something, if we do not even know we have the ability to do what has never even entered our cognition then we have know hope to accomplish what we do not even know we have the ability to do.

Today let us start to think outside of the box. Let us take chances, start believing in ourselves, and praying for clarity. Let us start believing we are worthy of our hearts desire and move towards accomplishing such deeds. Have a great week and God bless!

In this episode of the Backyard Preacher Podcast Nate examines faith and works.  James says faith without works is dead.  Yet what are these works?  Is it right action?  Religious ritual?  Loving your neighbor?  These are all great, but we humans will always come up short.  The fact is we cannot please God through right action.  Being a “good” person; Jesus himself said “who is good?”  The problem is many of us try to please God through right action that we become infatuated with our religious belief, rituals, and deeds it creates a type of religious OCD.
