Be the Prophet: Understanding Your Ability to Prophesy.

Because of the scope of the topic this post is limited, I only desires to argue the basic definition of prophecy from the Judeo-Christian tradition.  Growing up not only an Evangelical but also a Pentecostal, prophecy is normal place in my theological conversations.  I have found that many people do not understand prophecy and even worse many feel that it is something reserved for a select few.  In the next few paragraphs I will give a basic definition of prophecy and also give you some tips on becoming a prophet yourself.

When thinking of prophecy many look to the Old Testament books that are considered to be written by prophets.  The Old testament books include; Isaiah, Jeremiah, Laminations, Ezekiel, and Daniel.  These five books are known as the Major Prophets this is because of the size of the text not anything special. The Minor Prophets include Hosea, Joel, Amos, Obadiah, Micah, Nahum, Habakkuk, Zephaniah, Haggai, Zechariah, and Malachi.  The New Testament has one prophetic book, that being Revelations.  What makes these books prophetic?  First let us examine what Biblical prophecy is.

Prophecy is a foretelling of something yet to possibly take place. Many prophecies are inspirational or an interpretation of an event.  These certain individuals made proclamations that were interpreted by people as messages from God to man.  These texts were then formed into a large part of the Old Testament.  Only Revelations is considered a prophetic book in the New Testament.  The obvious question then is how did people realize these prophets were speaking in the name of God?  We can look at the life of King Saul Israel’s first king.  The Spirit of God came upon Saul, Saul prophesized: we do not know what he said, yet it was presumably inspirational words, predictions, and admonitions.  So the act of prophesying was not limited to a certain group of people, or just the prophets known in the Old Testament.  The New Testament also gives some details concerning prophecy.  First off, according to Paul prophecy should be the most sought after of all spiritual gifts (1 Corinthians 14).  Essentially the Christian prophet receives a message from God which should be shared with the church.  I have found with my own experiences as a prophet that this is not limited to the church.  Prophecy is an act in which you become inspired and then you speak the words that have bubbled up inside you.  You begin to understand that it is through faith that what you know what you are saying is from God.  Of course there is the human interface which is corrupt, that is why it is important to also test the prophets.  Basically to test the prophets, simply do not believe something just because they said it was prophetic; this is Biblical, so is common sense.  Not everything a prophet speaks is from God.

The big question that some of you may have is can I be a prophet?  The overwhelming answer is yes!  Not only is being a prophet something all Christians have the ability to become; the apostle Paul says that it is the spiritual gift that should be most sought after.  I am going to skip a lot of technical details and get straight to the point when it comes to prophecy.  The first thing you need is faith.  Faith in this situation is having the crazy idea that; yes I am a prophet.  That’s right you are a prophet and you can prophesy. Okay, now that you are cool with the fact that you are a prophet, you have to stir yourself up and speak some prophetic words.

Screenshot_20181112-144652_Google

Stir myself up?  Basically what I mean is to get emotional.  Often times we speak prophecy without realizing it.  We can become angry with our current life situation and speak the desires of our heart into the Universe and what may come back is what you asked for.  This has happened to me.  In church a prophetic word can start filling up inside you during a time of prayer or worship.  You might be thinking that this is not from God; yes it is.  Now you must proclaim it, or at least tell someone.  What I do is work myself up through prayer, maybe listen to some inspirational music and get into a trancelike state.  Then cut loose and proclaim with the power of my words.  Remember that heaven and earth was created through sound; so you being God’s creation have the gift of words to create just as God.  You must however believe the words you speak; you must know that they are divine.

Screenshot_20181112-145233_Google

What if I am wrong?  What if I give a prophetic word and it never comes to be?  Simple answer; this will happen all the time.  While you may be influenced by the Spirit of God, the words are still coming from you.  The words then are coming through an interface that is marred by limitations.  I can prophesy that I will win the lottery; it doesn’t mean it will happen.  Will it increase your odds?  I believe that it will.  The thing is, do not be afraid to be the prophet that you are called to be.  Prophesy, have fun it, it is a gift God has given you.  This ability does not only helps yourself, it helps others as well. Be the prophet.

Why Should I go to Church?

Why even bother going to church? This is the question I ask myself every Sunday morning.  I am sure it may be the question you also ask yourself.  Many people attend church because they feel as Christians they are supposed to attend.  Is the church making the lives of attendees better?  Is the church making lives worse?  What is the whole point of putting on a dog and pony show, smile at your neighbor and then sleep through someone telling me that they heard from God?  I hear from God also; where is my microphone?

Some people go to church because it is truly a blessing in their life. Church is become a social outlet that allows them to interact with people who are likeminded and distract themselves from the Monday through Friday grind.  That is perfectly okay, they actually are benefiting from attendance.  Some people go to church because the feel it is what God wants them to do.  The famous scripture quoted regularly to keep people in their seats, “Not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another all the more as you see the day approaching.” (Hebrews 10:25, NIV).  This like many verses can be spun anyway you want.

If you ask me why then people should meet together? I would say because it is good for you. I mean you do not have to meet with people you hate; meet with people you do like, even if it is at the bar down the corner.  That could be a church just as much as anything else; sharing laughter, a meal, and good conversation, to me that is church.  Church does not have to be this place that you have to drag the kids out of bed for, get into a fight with the spouse, and suffer through the hangover from the night before while you are singing, “If you are happy and you know it say amen.”  The very structure of church may just be what is wrong with the church?  Did those who gathered in the upper room recorded in the book of Acts have any other agenda but to hang out with one another?  I would think it was what felt good for them.  Nobody forced them to be there.  They felt compelled to gather and wait for the promised Holy Spirit.  Later the church changed and differed from community to community and that is okay.  All churches are not the same.  Some people you just do not want to hang out with.  When you go to many Evangelical churches in America today it could feel like a Trump rally.  God forbid you say you think socialism is a good idea; you will be pounced on like a rabbit.  Forget the part in the Bible about sharing everything equally.

There is not a perfect church, there are no perfect people, and there is not a proper way to do church. There are just people.  People who really like being with other people.  We are social beings, even El Chapo needs a hug.  Maybe, just maybe if we stop creating rules and dogmas about how Christians are supposed to live.  Even then it can be difficult because people have emotions and opinions and think they matter.  At least we like to think we matter, as matter of fact going to church is often ones greatest ego trip.  “Come to church and see me.  Look how I worship; no one worships better than me.”  I do not have the answer and I do not think that there is an answer.  The churches recorded in our Bibles had issues with people attending.   I for one would rather stay home or hang out with people I am comfortable with than put on a fake smile and act like I care.

Progressive Christianity; A Christianity for All People.

Screenshot_20181105-150700_Google

Progressive Christians ARE Christians, we are not a sub group of Christianity, rather we feel we have found a flavor of Christianity that Jesus would best be associated with. We are Christians who preach the gospel of love and salvation from self.  A message of love, a desire for peace and tolerance to all people; this is a general description of what progressive Christianity is about.  This is counter to many in the conservative evangelical world who hold to strict theological doctrines and dogmas in fear of hellfire and brimstone.  Progressive Christianity does not embrace fear. As the scripture states “perfect love cast out all fear.” (1 John 4:18).  In many ways our flavor of Christianity can bring many together in unity around the simple idea of love.

It is time to forget about your mother’s Christianity and step into the new age.  I am speaking primarily of hardcore fundamentalism.  When I was growing up it was all about hellfire and brimstone and salvation of souls.  I was so scared half the time that I think I was “saved” every Sunday.  You do not need to be a theologian of any status to understand that this is not what Jesus wanted.  Bringing people into the church by way of fear is no better than putting a knife to ones throat and telling them “convert or die.”  Who wants to enter heaven under compulsion?  Would you really be entering heaven? Jesus spoke of the Kingdom of Heaven being within our mist.  Yes, Jesus did also speak of hellfire, sin, and evil; yet humanity has overemphasized the darkness and forgot the light.

Progressive Christians are often very political and lean towards liberalism.  This is often due to our stance on love and inclusiveness.  We do not want to compete for ownership of the church; we just want to be the church.  Conservative Christians are generally republicans who vote primarily for the “pro-life” candidates even if the candidate drops bombs on refugees and sends men and women to die for self-interest.  They may not always admit it, but generally their churches are primarily white, anti-LGBT, nationalist, who would rather have a theocracy instead of freedom.  Progressive Christians are “pro-choice” although that is misleading as well.  Abortion is not a laughing matter and we take it very seriously.  We support the LGBT community and often our most senior leaders are members of this community.  Many of us believe in workers’ rights, universal healthcare, and tax payer funded education; that a person working a full time job should earn a living wage with enough for leisure.  We do not believe in a water downed gospel; instead we hold to the gospel of Jesus, understanding we are all on a journey of faith that cannot be outlined and fit into a box.  We are looked upon as liberal because our faith compels us to be like Jesus.  God is a globalist and loves all people.  Progressive Christians do not believe that you can contain the love of God.  God’s love is too big for that!  God’s love is for all.  Our love is for all!

Alert:Donald Trump to Suspend Habeas Corpus

CollageMaker Plus_201811416029699[728]

On March 3rd, 1863 then President Abraham Lincoln signed into law the Habeas Corpus Suspension Act. This gave the president unprecedented power over the Union States. Many of you readers who understand, know what I am writing is very dangerous as the same cabals active during the Civil War are active today. Many believe that this is the work of the Illuminati, no, it is the act of the powers of evil, fallen angels who have deceived mankind from time immemorial. The Illuminati seeks to fight back at these evil ones and bring light, love, and peace to humankind. I am among those who seek global awakening and the Kingdom of Heaven within the hearts of the people. The evil of this world, and worlds beyond have as in times past lifted a leader by blinding the hearts the people; exalting their egos. Today’s leader is Donald Trump, Mike pence, and many within his administration. Before you read further you must be warned that being caught in possession of this material can be very dangerous as the powers that be will seek to eliminate this information from the internet.

Trump does not care about his followers. His agenda is the complete control of the United States to lead the United States into an oligarchy similar in formula to Putin’s Russia. As of today, November 4, 2018 there is a caravan of thousands of migrants who are planning to enter the United States seeking asylum. Warning: the caravan may be funded by the Republican Party to create a situation in which Trump is now sending 15,000 troops to the southern border. Trump calls the migrants an “invasion” if Trump can convince the public that the United States is being “invaded” Trump may have the power to use the Habeas Corpus Suspension Act. This would give Trump the power to use the military against civilians who do not follow his commands. This would also allow Trump to sign executive orders freely with no recourse from the courts. Just as the American people of the North submitted although grudgingly to Lincoln’s use of powers during the Civil War. Lincoln who has been created into a godlike president touted as the greatest president ever to school children, while during his day he was one of the most hated. The elimination of slavery was the only triumph of the Civil War, but rest assured that Lincoln had no concern for freeing slaves until it was to his advantage. Lincoln desired to eliminate state rights, Lincoln succeeded as of today States have the least amount of rights ever possessed since the formation of the Union.

Trump also desires to eliminate State rights. Trump has a powerful following, a following who are willing to die for his cause. We see this in groups such as the Proud Boys, and other white nationalist organizations. The major threat to the Union is the radical Evangelical Church. These people truly believe that God has placed Trump into power, their eyes and hears have been so filled with deception that Trump acts with their unwavering support. To be fair I was once a deceived Evangelical Christian. I love my Evangelical Christian friends, it hurts me to see them so deceived.

Trump is not a young man, as of today he is 72 years old. His Vice President Mike Pence is only 59 and will be the next to take charge of the future Oligarchy. You may think that this is not possible. Do you think that the people of this country years before the Civil War ever thought that a war between the States would be possible? It seems unrealistic, yet, the dark ones have created this scenario before. This time there will not be a War. This time, it will be complete government control. A theocracy set up in the name of Trump with Pence being groomed to take command. We will see violence take place from left wing groups although they will be routed out be the military imprisoned and executed. I will probably be arrested for writing this letter having diverged the secrets of the evil cabals. The Illuminati will do everything that we can to try to stop these actions from taking place or at best give comfort to those being persecuted. We will try to bring the kingdom of heaven to earth although it will only be found in the elect.

Please be warned that these events are already taking place. The caravan is on the move creating Trump’s opportunity to send a division size element of troops to the border. He is calling this an “invasion” and is planting the seeds for the suspension of habeas corpus. The people of America will happily give up their rights for the cause of Trump’s nationalism. Although Trump is only one player in this global scheme. Trump will complete the deal with Russia to attack Europe. Seven Kings will eventually rule with Mike Pence and Vladimir Putin being two of the kings. They will rule the world and there is very little we can do about it. Let us encourage each other as we see the day draw near.
