Word of God

When we say that the whole Bible is the “word” of God which I believe has led to much confusion, due to the fact that literalist use the words to control and manipulate; even when they do not realize it.  Yes there is most definitely words of God within our Christian text, yes the text is inspired by the Holy Spirit, yet through men who had no idea they were writing holy texts. Rather a book of history, stories of God presented through the eyes of men.  Writings of trials and tribulations, praise and lamentations. A story of the people of Israel. A good news of salvation in Jesus, a church created through the power of God, and yet most of our NT is letters written to other churches. This is not a bad thing. But to say it is all the “Word” of God is problematic for Christians the reason as I stated above is the easy way this can lead to manipulation and control of the layman. I like to call my Bible Inspired text, true text, and text of our most holy faith that help lead us to salvation. That’s all happy Easter! I am such a cynic.
