Facebook and the Christian Right.

Thought I would share some interesting memes floating around FB.

Just some food for thought: Growing up I was taught to be a conservative at home and church. It actually wasn’t till much later after studying the scriptures in seminary I became liberal. That being said I find conservative Christians which I was once one only interested in rhetoric. If a person says God, Jesus, Lord, then they must be good. Many praise Trump for his ministers who prayed and his statements of God. The question that I propose is what fruits does he show? Some of his first actions in less then 24 hours were to start dismantling Obamacare leaving millions without health insurance, certainly Christ would not desire such would He? One meme portrays Jesus guiding the hand of Trump, I do wish Trump to be Guided by our Lord, yet many Christians actually believe it is so! As if Obama was not guided by God.

In 8 years I have seen the fruits and the heart of Obama towards people not just of Americans but the world, John 3:16. I do not think Jesus is just now moving back into the White House as another popular meme suggest, but that he has been there all along. Saying “Lord, Lord” will not suffice. It takes fruit and the passion for people. God’s people all over the world. Not the encouragement of wars, border walls, a deregulated Wallstreet, and American nationalism as if we are better than the rest of the world.

So let’s say you, who is more Christian? One who cares about their own self interest, or one who seeks love and embraces all people?
